Disposing of legacy IT equipment
If you need to dispose of non centrally managed IT equipment please contact Campus Support to request its removal, ext 88598.

Please note that some areas have other local arrangements in place to dispose of legacy IT equipment.

Box up the equipment and label it with Asset Number, Serial Number, room location, contact came and telephone number. Any data and documents should be backed up prior to disposal. If there is sensitive data on a device you are disposing it is best practice to securly wipe the device before disposal.

There are costs incurred when disposing of any computer in order to meet WEEE, RoHS and Data Protection legislation. It is at the discretion of Campus Support whether to pass on this charge to your accounting point.

Should you no longer need the use of an existing centrally managed equipement please contact the support desk (support@plymouth.ac.uk or ext 88588). See linked articles.
